Get Out Now!

Are you exhausted, stressed out, emotionally drained, and consistently worrying about work at the end of your workday with your life deteriorating before your very eyes? If the answer is yes, it's time for you to make a change and GET OUT of a job that only adds unnecessary stress to your life.

Many people fall into the trap of thinking that they can change a toxic workplace, but eventually, they become so overwhelmed that they lose their very essence for life. If you are trying to make changes in your organization without any support, you will become burned out, leading to all types of health issues.

As noble as your intention may be, you must recognize when it's time to leave because the effect of working in a toxic workplace for a long time will have a significant impact on your health, your ability to lead, your team, and your personal life.

Everyone is blessed with gifts and talents that can make a difference in this world. Never stop pursuing your purpose, live an abundant life, and never settle for anything less.

Very interesting comments from readers. The interesting thing about employment is that most of us aren't legally/contractually bound to any employer. Isn't that great? None of us HAS to wake up and go to the same job everyday. Yes, I know, all of us need to make a living, benefits/insurance, paid time off, etc. The point of the article is that life's too short to be miserable. Challenge ourselves to place happiness above all else. If we're in a leadership position, what can we do to make a change? A toxic business doesn't mean a leader needs to have a toxic department or division. If changing the culture won't work, change organizations. Yes, change is hard, but you'll be glad…

Having just left a toxic work environment I can see in retrospect the truth in these words. However during your trying to figure out your path, your next steps. What am I doing wrong? How can I make this work? Then if and when opportunity presents itself to leave you wonder if the next place has the same issues. At least you know your demons where you are the moment. The words are simple, the thought is truth but execution no so simple.

So true but unfortunately due to individual circumstances and responsibilities not everyone can afford or have this luxury of quitting a job.

I don't think he meant quit and be jobless. If you are ready to leave, build a plan. Find a job that you feel passionate about. The first steps is making the decision to break the toxic routine.

There are people stuck in these environments and they can’t get out in a world where generations will continue to suffer. Toxic homes. Toxic communities. Toxic systems. Toxic countries. What would you say to them? If we are free, our job is to free others. Hope deferred makes the heart sick. A flower cannot bloom in a toxic environment. It withers and dies.
