Don't Push your Most Loyal People

It's easy for high-performing employees to go unnoticed and undervalued. Unfortunately, some leaders tend to take advantage of these employees' efforts, pushing them to work harder and take on more responsibilities without addressing the underperformance of others. This eventually leads to burnout and demotivation.

According to Tim McClure, when these employees become quiet, it's a sign that the work environment has become dysfunctional. As a leader, it's essential to act immediately when this happens and avoid pushing your most loyal employees to the point where they no longer care. If you're fortunate to have a team that is passionate and motivated to help your company achieve its goals, it's crucial to maintain this vibe. Otherwise, you risk losing exceptional talent while settling for mediocrity.
